Marden Show 2011

Ghost went to her first show since she had the puppies and made the most of it by coming second in the Pedigree Non-Sporting and Open classes at the Marden Show held at Coombe Park near Totnes.

Ghost is likely to go back to obedience or possibly agility soon.

Luka did not go to the show as he is happier yomping over the moors and fields.

Luna on the other hand loves to show off and won best Pedigree Puppy and Best Puppy at the Show. You can see he is very impressed with his rosettes. I think he will retire now because he has won two from two classes entered.

Luna and Luka are likely to be going back to obedience classes this autumn because they are too young for agility and are not as agile as their Mother.

First Show

The weather for Christow show was very wet in the morning just like a monsoon.

By the afternoon however it had dried out considerably and we decided to continue the boys socialisation at the Show.

Two Growing Boys

Luna won the pedigree puppy class and the boys were second in the pairs, losing out a match pair of Jack Russells. Ghost also came second in the class a few years ago when she was paired with a Jack Russell!

Luna was also judged third best dog in the District.

However nice it is that the puppies did well in the dog show the best thing was that people kept coming up and saying what lovely dogs they were and how well behaved, even when the South Devon hounds ran amok.

This is Luna, aged just over 6 months on his first long solo walk with Simon. 3 Miles up the river from Fingle Bridge and back, and Luna was perfectly behaved, off the lead the entire time!

The boys are really enjoying this lovely weather. They are coming on in their training and walk well on the lead and also, touch wood, very good in their recall off the lead.

Five months

Luka and Luna stayed with us in the end, and we’re quite happy – they’re great fun.

Having two boys together means twice the trouble….

And this is Luka – whose left ear never did grow up properly. Doesn’t matter though, we still love him. He’s looking unusually guilty here after playing in the mud. Sometimes white doesn’t seem like such a great colour for a dog… (Although twenty minutes later he was spotless again)

Boys Grow Up

The two boys we still have are growing at quite a pace, they have both been vacinated, and are now starting to work on the lead. Both of them understand the word ‘No’ but don;t always choose to understand it.

Luna is I think similar in nature to his father. He is a gentle soul and very people orientated. When walking on the lead he has close heal work of a fine art and he keeps checking on you when he is off the lead.

Luka is exactly like his mother, he loves people but loves doing his own thing as well. His ears are quite slow to rise, and are a bit wonky but he is growing into a great stamp of a dog.

The boys are now starting to explore new parts of the house, including the bathroom, which they have only visited once before to have a shower. As you can see Luka does not have a bad memory of his shower, as he settled down for a sleep in the shower.

Luna was not so keen on the bathroom, but still managed to pose with his ears going up.

It is lovely to see howthe puppies are getting on in their new homes. Spirit seems to have settled in and is in charge of the other dogs and steals their food

Kia Grows Up

Have had a report that Kia is doing brilliantly and is nearly house trained and has nearly stopped biting.

She looks a lovely mix of her Mother and Father and as you can see her ears are well developed.

Snowflake Goes Home

Snowflake now named Spirit is safely settled in her new home with her new friends.

She was the smallest of the litter but has a big personality and is well settled with her new family
